We got ourselves a set of shiny new wings, as 90% of developers use AI coding assistants, and AI-authored code makes up 25% of production code worldwide! We can doubt many aspects of AI, but not that things are moving fast in our own software development backyard.
In this talk I want to get back to the basics of our technology innovation process and analyze what is staying the same and where the changes are creeping in. Let’s look in particular at AI agents, that from the outside will get ever harder to distinguish from fellow humans and also how AI impacts the onboarding of juniors. Let’s heed the Greek’s warnings: fly neither too low nor too high.
